Graduation Information
  • There are three possible diploma dates: December, May, and August. Commencement ceremonies are held in December and May (Summer graduates attend the May ceremony). MAED students attend a cermony held on the friday of Proseminar week.
  • If you plan to attend a commencement ceremony, it must be the ceremony in the term for which your degree will be posted, i.e., if you will be finishing requirements in December, you must attend the Winter Commencement Ceremony.
  • Honor medallions are given to those students who have earned at least 45 letter graded credits at Viterbo as of the application deadline. Final transcript honors are determined upon completion of all requirements. To receive honors of academic distinction, you must have earned 45 letter graded credits at Viterbo with a grade point average of at least a 3.50. To receive Latin honors, you must have earned at least 60 letter graded credits and a 3.50 grade point average for cum laude honors, a 3.70 grade point average for magna cum laude honors, and a 3.90 grade point average for summa cum laude honors.
  • Master’s degree candidates will be responsible for purchasing their cap, gown, and hood at the bookstore.
  • Your degree will be posted to your permanent record (transcript) after grades are submitted and a final check of your requirements is made and determined to be complete.
  • Diplomas are mailed approximately 6-8 weeks after the final grades are due. An unofficial transcript is mailed with the diploma. By submitting this form, you are authorizing the release of the transcript with the diploma.
  • DNP candidates will have the option to buy or rent regalia. Further information will be sent via email.
